St. Patricks Day 2026

Paddy's Day is upon us! (Or as our American visitors call it - St. Patty's Day)

Following a very damp winter, Patrick's Day generally marks the beginning of our bustling tourist season here in the iconic Castle Yard, Kilkenny. With the sun finally peeking out from behind the sun to see what we're getting up to, things are definitely looking up.

Kilkenny is a hive of activity at this time of year, as we shake off our hibernation and begin to regurgitate the adage, "Isn't it great to see the stretch in the evening?" Soon enough, my evenings will be filled with camogie and football matches. Hopefully there will be a little less rain! Surely we've hit capacity on that front?
